The Color of Sound – Leslie Browne
What Art Can Do gallery is pleased to announce The Color of Sound, a solo exhibition of oil paintings by Leslie Browne. The exhibition will open on March 27, 2025, from 17:00 to 20:00 at What Art Can Do, located on Tweede Tuindwarsstraat 4, Amsterdam. The exhibition will be on display for two weeks, closing on April 10, 2025.

Leslie Browne’s recent work explores the captivating intersection of color and how it connects to musical notes, offering a new way to experience the visual and auditory senses. Her paintings capture the vibrancy and rhythm of colors as they respond to musical frequencies, creating a unique dialogue between sight and sound.

In addition to the exhibition, Browne will host a special lecture on April 6, 2025 from 16:00 to 17:00, where she will delve deeper into her creative process, explaining how she bridges the worlds of color and music in her work.

On display will also be Inside Black, a unique book project which Browne conceived and created in collaboration with Joan Gannij, writer/photographer. This book investigates the true meaning of black through the lenses of art, culture, science and psychology, offering a multifaceted exploration of the color’s depth and significance. The book includes contributions from 28 individuals who bring diverse perspectives to this powerful subject. Inside Black will be available for purchase throughout the exhibition.
