Mari Terauchi started her Perspective series since her student time. Analytically, Terauchi attempted to show some different way of perspective such as perspective in photo (2D image) transformed into sculpture (3D image). They are mainly expressed by contrasting scales. This series are diverse in presentation from the traditional perspective to foreshortening perspective. Often, they are expressed in sculpture but also as installations. Sometimes they are seen as a part of other works such as Here and There. This peep boxes have miniature tableaux inside, which are visualised with her perspective series technique. Recently she started making this perspective series as wall hanging sculptures. Some works of this series can be also seen in her embroidery work, Eintritt frei. By scanning the QR-Codes on this work, the viewers access to her sculptures. We can just try is also her embroidery work with miniature figures. With these works, Terauchi transformed 3-dimensional objects (her sculptures and the miniature figures) back into 2 dimensional. For her exhibition at What Art can Do she exhibits early and newly works of this series.
